In 2016 when WorkSafe Victoria released new compliance codes, Bill was working for the Civil Contractors Federation.

Mindful that the introduction of these codes would affect subcontractor operations, Bill worked with an industry reference stakeholder group, representing civil subcontractors, to ensure the compliance code met the requirements of the subcontractors.

“Being able to influence change that was meaningful and practical was worthwhile.”

Engaging with WorkSafe, the CFMEU and subcontractors, Bill contributed to the drafting of the compliance code, ensuring the requirements of the codes translated into real world practices that subcontractors could implement and that improved workplace health and safety.
